If The Pants Fit!!!

I was just a little curious this morning about some of my tight pants. These are so tight that I would not be caught dead wearing them. I decided to try them on to see how much more I have to loose to be able to wear them publicly. 5 pairs, count them: 1,2,3,4,5 pairs of my tight pants now fit!!!! This is kind of exciting to have more wardrobe selection.

On the Mend

It has been five days since surgery. All went well, and I am feeling a lot better than I expected. My concern right now is to make sure that I get enough water intake so that I do not become dehydrated. Trying to learn how much I can handle at one time is also a challenge. I will be on my liquid diet for another couple of weeks, then I can start on to soft foods.
I know that it will take awhile to adjust to this new life change, but I am looking forward to it! I will post new pictures each month so that I can track my progress. So for the next week or so I will keep taking it easy and just continue to heal. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. I really appreciate it!

Weighing In

So, my liquid diet for the last two weeks was not filled with much variety. I had lots of Jello, sugar free popsicles, crystal light, broth and protein drinks. Not much in the flavor department. I think that my most flavorful beverage of choice was my V8 juice. It did what it needed to do though. I had a weigh in at my surgeons office and I lost approximately 16 lbs. over these past two weeks.

My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning. I need to leave at 4:30 am for a check in time of around 5:30 am. It is going to be an early day. I still have a few things to do before tomorrow, but wanted to keep everyone updated. I have also decided to post before and after pictures (even though it pains me to do so). I will post new photos each month. That should be interesting. Wish me luck!!

Let's Give Them Something to Blog About

OK, it has been over two years. I am aware of this fact. I have never felt like I had anything very interesting to talk about, so I didn't keep up with the blog. I have also never felt like I was that great of a writer. I have had a change of heart, and decided to join the blog bandwagon once again. Some days may be more interesting than others, but at least I will be blogging something right?

On April 6th, I will be undergoing Gastric Bypass Surgery. I have a lot of friends who will be wondering about the progress I make during this journey in my life, and I think that it will be a lot easier if I just blogged about it.

It has been a long process and I have contemplated whether or not this is the right decision. I weighed the pros and cons of the surgery. I went through a 6 month diet and exercise plan with the help of my dietitian and Dr. and decided that GBP was the surgery that would be most successful for me. All my paperwork was submitted to my insurance company in Jan. and about 2 weeks later I was approved! I am nervous, but excited about the outcome. I know that the road will be bumpy and at times, even long. For me, the sacrifice is small compared to the reward.
